Hubli (Karnataka) [India], AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday attacked the BJP model of development in the state and compared it to an empty vessel - chombu (a vessel with a narrow neck to hold water). Addressing a press conference in Hubli ahead of the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 26, holding an empty vessel in his hand, he said, "What the BJP-led Center has given to Karnataka is an empty vessel. And Surjewala said that this time 6.5 crore people of Karnataka have decided to give an empty vessel back to BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. As the people of Karnataka chose Congress, Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi hate Kannada people. And trying to take revenge, Surjewala said that the Center has given an empty vessel to the people of Karnataka. He said that Congress's "guarantee" in Karnataka. Against the model, there also exists the "Chombu Model" of the Indian Chombu Party."Today there are two models in Karnataka. One is the guarantee model or Congress. We had given five guarantees in the assembly elections. We had said that we will implement them. 40 per cent of those running the government used to say that these guarantees cannot be implemented.Surjewala said, ''We gave five guarantees - Grihalakshmi, Grihajyoti, Shakti, Anna Bhagya and Yuv Nidhi. The Karnataka government deposited Rs 58 thousand crore in the bank accounts of 4.5 crore Kannadigas on the model of the Bharatiya Chombu Party,'' he said. Surjewala also slammed the BJP for not releasing funds for drought relief to Karnataka, “We had declared drought more than six months ago, Congress ministers from the state met the Union Home Secretary and After implementing the memorandum, the Chief Minister met the Prime Minister and the Home Minister and the report was sent to the High Power Committee by September 2023, but nothing was done. It seems that the Central Government has taken revenge from the people of Karnataka. Surjewala said, the 15th Finance Commission says that when a state complains of drought, the money should be given back to the state. But Amit Shah gave 'chombu' empty handed. He said, Highlighting the neglect towards Karnataka, Surjewala said, "When Karnataka demands Rs 58,000 crore as its due under the 15th Finance Commission, Modi asks us to take an empty 'chombu'. , When Karnataka asks for Rs 6,000 crore for the Bhadra project announced in the budget, P gives a blank 'chombu'.“When we ask for tax money back, Modi ji says take the empty ‘chombu’, for Bhadra Dam he says take the empty ‘chombu’. He said that for every Rs 100 revenue given to the Centre, Karnataka is getting back just Rs 13 as its share. He also said that permission is not being given for the Mekedatu and Mahadaya Kalasa-Banduri projects. And alleged that PM Modi has stolen the word 'Guarantee'. Announcing the new guarantee for Karnataka, Surjewala said, 'Now the Congress government in Delhi will deposit Rs 1 lakh every year. Promises that, to fight inflation and price rise created by Modi, youth will be given Rs 1 lakh every year.Universal health coverage for each person in India is Rs 25 lakh. Loan waiver for small and marginal farmers has also been announced. Lok Sabha elections for 28 seats in Karnataka will be held in two phases, with voting taking place on April 26 and May 7. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. In 2019, BJP won 25 out of 28 seats on its own.
