Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], A forest fire broke out in Gangera Hill in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Sunday, officials said.

On receiving the information, forest department personnel swung into action to control the fire.

Another massive forest fire has been raging in Daya Dhar of Ghordi block of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir for the last three days.

During this period, the fire has become very intense and despite continuous efforts to extinguish the fire, it has not been able to be controlled. The destruction of vegetation has affected not only the peacocks but also other wildlife and the overall ecosystem.

Forest fires in Udhampur district pose a significant threat to the environment, wildlife and local communities. Destruction of vegetation and release of harmful pollutants into the atmosphere have far-reaching consequences. Loss of wildlife and disruption of ecosystems are also major concerns.

He stressed the urgency of the situation, highlighting the presence of large numbers of peacocks and other wildlife in the area. The ongoing fires have caused huge damage to these creatures, and Sharma stressed the need for immediate action.
