Addressing a massive election rally in Udhampur, PM Modi campaigned vigorously for BJP candidates Dr Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma, who are contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Kathua-Udhampur and Jammu-Reasi constituencies respectively.

PM Modi said that assembly elections will soon be held in Jammu and Kashmir and its statehood will be restored so that people can elect their representatives and ministers.

He strongly criticized Congress, National Conference, People's Democratic Party and other such parties, saying that these are dynastic parties which have caused tremendous damage to Jammu and Kashmir in the past. “Their politics is of the family, for the family and government by the family. Based on principles. They want to drag Jammu and Kashmir back to the old dark times...not to continue their hold on the people, these parties have created a monster saying I have removed Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir will burn and It will be separated from the country. They have created such an environment like a huge wall of Article 370 that no one from outside could see inside and no one from inside could see outside. With your blessings, Modi demolished that wall and buried the debris of Article 370 underground.”

He said, "I challenge any political party in the country to talk about restoring Article 370. If they do so, people will not even bear to see their face."

He said that after the removal of 370, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have shown the mirror to these political parties so that their real faces are revealed.“Now these parties have started a new policy. They are going outside Jammu and Kashmir and asking different states what benefit the people there got from the removal of Article 370. The benefit of removal of 370 was that mothers and sisters, Dalits, Gadi Brahmins, Paharis, Valmikis, West Pakistani refugees got their rights back. And others have got their rights which were denied to them for 70 years'' the PM said.

“Mothers of security personnel will be worried about the stone pelting attacks on their sons in Kashmir.Mothers of local children will be worried if they do not hear the voices of their children because they fear that these children may have fallen into the wrong hands. Schools are no longer burnt in Kashmir, they are now decorated. There are IIMs, AIIMS, IITs, tunnels, wide roads and rail travel facilities."

“Tourists are coming in such large numbers. These are the changes Jammu and Kashmir is progressing rapidly today. The poor are guaranteed free ration for five years, everyone in Jammu and Kashmir has free health cover of Rs 5 lakh... Safe drinking water reached more than 75 percent of villages in Jammu and Kashmir during the last 10 years And electricity and roads have reached everywhere. Digital connectivity is expanding. The Prime Minister said, "Mobile towers are seen at remote places in Jammu and Kashmir." He said, "Modi's guarantee is a guarantee to fulfill the guarantee that I give to the people."

He talked about the Shahpur-Kandi project and said that for decades the Congress government allowed the project to remain an incomplete task.

He said, “Ravi water will go to Pakistan and today this water is irrigating our fields in Kathua and Samba.““This Lok Sabha election is not just an election to send representatives to the Parliament. It is an election to elect a strong government in the country which can meet all the challenges facing the country.”

He also criticized Congress and said that its leaders did not even accept the invitation for the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“They say Ram temple is an election issue. This is not an election issue, no it will ever be an election issue. The struggle for Ram temple goes back 500 years when there was not even the idea of elections. “We built Ram temple without spending government money.Donations came from the poor people of this country and the temple was built after fulfilling all the legal and constitutional requirements,” he said.

Pointing towards the opposition leaders, he said that they are eating non-veg during Navratri. He said, "I know who they are trying to please by doing this and which vote restriction they are trying to save... Let me remind them that when the Mughals came to India, they were only for the local people. Will not be satisfied after defeating the kings. They will be satisfied by destroying our temples. The people of this country have resolved to rebuild those temples.”

He told the gathering that he was confident of their support. He asked all those present at the rally to visit Mata Vaishno Devi temple on his behalf as he could not go there personally today. He also asked the voters to support BJP candidates D Jitendra Singh and Jugal for Kathua-Udhampur and Jammu-Reasi seats. Kishore Sharma appealed to ensure a historic victory for both of them for the third time.
