Dibrugarh (Assam) [India], Amid a disastrous situation in Assam due to floods, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday alleged that the BJP government is repeatedly awarding embankment projects to the same contractors who have built defective embankments .

"I said it is a matter of grave concern, I am very worried and I think the central government should also be worried. I am aware that Prime Minister Modi spoke to the Chief Minister, but I am worried if the Chief Minister himself knows the truth real or not. Over the last 10 years, we have seen that the Jal Shakti Department of the BJP government is repeatedly giving embankment projects to contractors who construct broken embankments or are not able to do their job properly while constructing embankments, but even after that. of that, the same contractor gets work again and again," Gogoi said.

He also mentioned that the BJP doesn't really want a permanent and long-term solution.

"The Jal Shakti department is used here as an ATM. That is why I said in my speech that the Water Minister at the Center should come and see how much money is being looted through the embankments during the floods in Assam," added the congressional parliamentarian. .
