Thiago would depart Anfield after four seasons, during which he made nine appearances and scored six goals, winning the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Community Shield.

"Those are the two words that come to my mind the day I have to say goodbye to you all, Reds. Grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this city, this club and this community. I have received continued support since then. It's been an incredible day: the Anfield cheers, the Kop chants... a very unique fan base for a unique club.

"These past four years have been a learning time for me and my family. There are some wins, some losses, but without a doubt, it has been a life-changing experience. Teammates, coaches, staff and club staff: You Everyone was a part of it,” Thiago wrote in a social media post.

The midfielder joined the Reds in September 2020 after a Champions League triumph with Bayern Munich.

The injury limited him to 28 matches during the 2022–23 campaign. He was limited to only solitary appearances in his final season as a Red.
