Officials holding key positions in the government were appointed as the current vice-chancellors stepped down on Tuesday.

As per the orders issued by the government, the in-charge Vice Chancellors will hold these posts till the appointment of regular Vice Chancellors or till June 15, whichever is earlier.

Dana Kishore, principal secretary, municipal administration and urban development, has been appointed as vice-chancellor in-charge of Osmania University, Hyderabad and Burra Venkatesham, principal secretary, education department, has been appointed as VC in-charge of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU). Has been done Hyderabad.

Karuna Vakati, Secretary, Department of Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, has been appointed VC in-charge of Kakatiya University, Warangal, while S.A.M. Rizvi Dr. B.R. Will take care of. Ambedkar OP University, Hyderabad and Principal Secretary Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Sandeep Kumar Sultania will head Telangana University, Nizamabad.Shailaja Ramaiyar, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Potti is the in-charge for Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad, and Naveen Mittal, Principal Secretary, Revenue, is the in-charge for Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda.

Surendra Mohan, secretary, department of mines and geology, is the VC in-charge of Satavahana University, Karimnagar, while principal secretary planning Ahmed Nadeem will head Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar.

Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, ITE&C, is the Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University of Architecture and Fine Arts, Hyderabad.

The government has already invited applications for the posts of regular VC, a total of 1,382 applications have been received from 312 teachers. Most have applied to multiple universities.The government may soon issue orders for the formation of search committees to expedite the process of appointment of regular vice-chancellors.

The search committees, which will include a representative from the respective university, University Grants Commission and the state government, will look into the applications and recommend three names for each VC post. The Governor, who is the Chancellor of the State Universities, will appoint the VC.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, after assuming charge in December last year, had announced that he would not keep the VC posts pending for years like the previous government.
