Voting is going on in Beed Lok Sabha constituency of Marathwada in Maharashtra state for the fourth phase of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Pankaja Gopinath Munde has been made the candidate in place of her sister Pritam Gopinath Rao Munde, who has held the seat for the last two terms. Her younger sister, Pritam, has been representing the Beed seat since 2014. Their late father, Gopinath was Munde. Won from Beed parliamentary constituency in 2009 and 2014, however, due to his death in 2014, Pritam contested and won the 2019 elections as well as the by-election of that year.The BJP has fielded a third member of the same family, Pankaja Beed, as its candidate, which is facing a severe water crisis, with many villages facing water shortage and residents having to travel for drinking water.
