The four assembly constituencies are Raiganj in North Dinajpur district, Bagda in North 24 Parganas district, Ranaghat-South in Nadia district and Maniktala in Kolkata.

From Maniktala, the party has fielded Kalyan Choubey, who unsuccessfully contested the same constituency in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections.

The party's candidates from Raiganj, Bagda and Ranaghat-South will be Manas Kumar Ghosh, Binay Biswas and Manoj Kumar Biswas respectively.

The last two candidates are from the Matua community, which is a backward class community. He has been given the ticket because people from the sect constitute a large part of the total voters in both Bagda and Ranaghat-South.

The by-election in Maniktala had become necessary due to the death of former Trinamool Congress MLA Sadhan Pandey.

In the other three constituencies, former BJP MLAs, namely Vishwajit Das from Bagda, Dr Mukut Mani Adhikari from Ranaghat-South and Krishna Kalyani from Raiganj, all elected in 2021, had to resign from the Assembly due to contesting the Lok Sabha elections. On Trinamool Congress ticket.

Although all three lost this time, there is a need to hold by-elections in these three assembly constituencies from where they had resigned.

As per the performance of both the parties in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, BJP is in a better position in Raiganj, Bagda and Ranaghat-South and Trinamool Congress is comfortable in Maniktala constituency.

Trinamool Congress was the first political party to announce candidates for all four of these constituencies. Later, the Left Front announced candidates from three constituencies, Ranaghat-South and Maniktala, while leaving the Raiganj seat for the Congress.
