WRD Additional Chief Secretary Chaitanya Prasad told reporters here, "It was found that the engineers were negligent and monitoring was ineffective... This is the main reason for the collapse of minor bridges and viaducts in the state."

Three executive engineers are also included among those suspended.

A total of 10 bridges collapsed in Siwan, Saran, Madhubani, Araria, East Champaran and Kishanganj districts in the last 17 days, officials said.
