Purnia (Bihar): A Bihar court on Thursday granted bail to independent MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in an extortion case registered against him earlier this week.

In the case registered on June 10 at Mufassil police station, Yadav got bail from the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Purnia.

Coming out of the court, Yadav denied a local businessman's allegation that the MP had demanded Rs 1 crore soon after he was declared elected from Purnia Lok Sabha seat.

I will go to the Supreme Court and file a defamation case against the businessman and the police officers who are in collusion with him."
