Ajit Singh alleged that the top leadership of JDU took major decisions without taking the party workers into confidence. As a result, the workers are not facing the awkward situation at the grassroots level which is having an adverse impact on the party organisation, hence he resigned from the primary membership of JD-U, Aji Singh said.

He also wrote a letter to JD-U state president Umesh Kushwaha requesting him to accept his resignation with immediate effect.

Ajit Singh said, "We thought that the Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) would take a decision regarding the state, but even after two phases of Lok Sabha elections, no announcement has been made by the NDA regarding Bihar."

“PM Narendra Modi has not said anything about giving special status to Bihar. Some BJ leaders openly said that they will change the constitution. He said, "BJP's agenda has taken a turn which is dangerous for the country's democracy, but C. Nitish Kumar has not taken any steps to control it."

He said, “There is concern in the society due to this stance of BJP. In such a situation, it became difficult for me to ask people to vote for NDA. Hence resigned from primary membership of JD-U,'' he said.

Ajit Singh is the younger son of Jagdanand Singh and younger brother of RJD candidate from Buxar Sudhakar Singh.

He was in RJD before joining JD-U in April 2022. However, the party did not give him any major post. His youngest brother Puneet Singh is also from RJD.
