Kolkata, West Bengal CID recovered parts of human bones near a canal in South 24 Parganas district on Sunday during a search operation in connection with the investigation into the murder of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar, a senior official said. Gave.

He said the sample was found on the south-eastern bank of Bagjola canal in Krishnamati village of Bhangar after the interrogation of Mohammad Siam Hussain, a key suspect in the case, who was arrested by Nepal Police and extradited to India.

"The bone parts appear to be those of a human being, as suggested by the medical officers and forensic experts who were present at the time," the CID officer said.

The police took suo motu cognizance and registered a case in this regard at Bijayganj Bazar Police Station.

The bone parts will soon be sent for forensic examination."A search is underway to locate the body parts of the Bangladeshi politician," the official said.

CID officials had earlier recovered pieces of meat, weighing around 3.5 kg, from the septic tank of a flat in the New Town area, where the MP was last seen on May 12.

The CID officer said the Bangladesh MP's daughter could reach Kolkata next week for DNA testing to find out whether the bones and meat belonged to Anar or not.

Siam, a key suspect in the case, was arrested by Nepal Police and extradited to India on Friday.

He was also taken to the New Town flat on Sunday to assist the CID in locating the body parts of the Bangladesh MP and the instruments used to commit the crime.The officer claimed that Siam admitted that he was hired by Anar's friend and a US national, Akhruzman, who is suspected to be the prime accused in the case.

"He came to Kolkata and stayed in a hotel in New Town. He met another person, a butcher, and both of them bought murder instruments and several plastic packets from Kolkata's New Market," the officer said.

He claimed that the equipment were mainly helicopters while those plastics were used to pack the politician's chopped body parts.

“The MP was murdered by Siam along with other people and a woman present there by smothering his face with a pillow.Then they cut the body into many small parts. Some parts were put in a trolley bag. The head parts were kept in a plastic bag which they dumped in the canal and many other areas," he said.

Siam was brought to West Bengal on Saturday evening and sent to 14-day CID custody by a local court in Barasat in North 24 Parganas district.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Akhtaruzzaman had paid around Rs 5 crore to people involved in the crime.CID officials had said that Akhtaruzzaman owned a flat in Kolkata and was probably currently in the US.

Efforts to trace the missing MP, who reportedly reached Kolkata on May 12 for treatment, have been underway after Gopal Biswas, a resident of North Kolkata's Baranagar and an acquaintance of the Bangladeshi politician, lodged a complaint with the local police in May. 18.

On Biswas's arrival, Anar stayed at his residence.

In his complaint, Biswas mentioned that Anar had left his Baranagar residence for a doctor's appointment on the afternoon of May 13 and was expected to be back home for dinner. However, Biswas is forced to lodge a police complaint after Anar goes missing.
