Kolkata: As counting for the general elections progressed on Tuesday, two of the three Union ministers from West Bengal in the outgoing central government are trailing, though not by a large number, according to Election Commission data.

BJP candidate and Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar is trailing his nearest rival Trinamool Congress's Arup Chakraborty by 14,932 votes in the Bankura constituency.

The saffron party's Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik is trailing his nearest rival TMC's Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia by 7,339 votes in the Cooch Behar seat.

Union Minister of State and BJP candidate from Bongaon, Shantanu Thakur is leading over TMC's Vishwajit Das by 34,464 votes in the constituency.
