New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday began hearing on ED's plea challenging a trial court order granting bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam.

A vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain is hearing the arguments of Additional Solicitor General SV Raju on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate.

After this the court will hear the arguments of Kejriwal's lawyers.

ED has also sought a stay on the trial court order.

Starting his arguments, Raju argued that the trial court order, which has been made available today, is "perverted".

He said, "We were not given a fair opportunity to be heard. There cannot be a more distorted order than this."

Earlier in the day, the division bench said the lower court order would not take effect until the high court hears the case.
