Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, undivided Shiv Sena did a lot for Chhatrapat Sambhajinagar, including sanctioning Rs 200 crore for the Nandur Madhameshwar Canal, when former MP Chandrakant Khaire was the district guardian minister in 1995-99, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve. said on Thursday.

Khaire was defeated by AIMIM's Imtiaz Jaleel in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference, Danve said that the Nandur Madamaheshwar canal has significantly increased irrigation in Vaijapur taluka, adding that Khyre has also got permission for widening of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Waluj road.

"He also took rigorous follow-up action for the construction of the Dhule-Solapur (NH 52) highway passing through the district. The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor was also approved during his tenure. Funds for the water grid project in Paithan were allocated by Uddhav Thackeray. The approval was given to the MVA government,” Danve said.

Danve said that earlier when the MVA was in power, the city used to get water once in three days, whereas now (under the Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP government) it gets it once in every nine days.
