New Delhi [India], The National Investigation Agency on Thursday conducted massive searches at the premises of various suspects and overground workers (OGWs) of the banned Naxalite organization in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

The NIA said that during the searches conducted at four locations, several pieces of incriminating material including mobile phones, documents and letters were seized.

The NIA action came in a case (RC-03/2023/NIA/RNC), which pertained to the arrest of three OGWs who were working as messengers for Naxalite cadres.

The anti-terrorism agency said the trio were nabbed from Bera Kenduda School in West Singhbhum district in July 2022 and an incriminating letter was found from them, which led the NIA to take action against other OGWs and suspects in the district. ,

The NIA's investigation into the case, which it took over in August last year, is ongoing.
