The 32-year-old Chauhan smashed an unbeaten 144 off just 41 balls to help Estonians chase down Cyprus' target of 191/7 in style after the team lost the openers early. The number four batsman hit 24 fours in his innings, including 18 maximums, while scoring at an astonishing strike-rate of 351.21 as he single-handedly dismantled the Cyprus bowling attack.

He completed his century in just 27 balls, bettering the previous record of Lofty Eaton. Chauhan's 18 sixes is also a new men's T20I record for an innings in the format, surpassing Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai and New Zealand's Finn Allen, who previously held the record with 16 sixes each.

Estonia now leads the six-match series in Cyprus 2-0, chasing a target of 196 with three balls and five wickets to spare in the opening match of Monday's double-header.

However, on that occasion, Chauhan could not have had a more contrasting impact with the bat, being dismissed for a golden duck. The streak continues with another double-header at Episkopi on Tuesday.
