New Delhi [India], Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with BJP National President JP Nadda chaired the meeting of Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Core Group at the party headquarters in Delhi.

The meeting comes a day after the appointment of state election in-charges and co-in-charges for the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir, where elections are to be held this year.

Earlier on Saturday, in response to former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the party's poor performance in the state in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi has got only 0.3 per cent more votes than Mahayuti alliance and they should not start “daydreaming”.

Bawankule said, “In the Lok Sabha elections, Maha Vikas Aghadi got 0.3 percent more votes (than the Mahayuti alliance). If we talk about Mumbai, we got 2 lakh more votes.,

In response to Thackeray's dig at the Mahayuti alliance on the question of who will be their chief minister after the assembly elections, Bawankule said, "There are five contenders for the CM post in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)."

The Maharashtra BJP chief said they will correct their shortcomings but the opposition should avoid 'daydreaming' after getting only 0.3 per cent more votes.

He said, "They (MVA) have got only 0.3 per cent more votes. We have accepted that we will correct our mistakes, we will work among the sections where we missed. We will work among the sections of the people where we Couldn't win trust." But this does not mean that he should not start talking about the post of Chief Minister now.People in Maha Vikas Aghadi have started daydreaming,” Bawankule said.

The senior BJP leader also warned the people of Maharashtra that if the MVA comes to power in the state, they will stop the benefits of schemes run by the BJP-led central government from reaching the state.

"I am confident that the people of Maharashtra will think again. Maha Vikas Aghadi is working to stop PM Modi's plans for the next five years. This is their conspiracy. If they form the government by mistake, they will stop Maharashtra from taking advantage of Centre's government schemes. People in Maha Vikas Aghadi are afraid of PM Modi and attack him personally, people who attack PM Modi personally If they attack, how can they carry out their plans in the state?" Bawankule said.

Expressing confidence that the BJP-led grand alliance government will come to power in the state after the assembly elections, Bawankule said, "I believe that this time we had some shortcomings. We will overcome it and we will definitely bring the BJP to power in the state." Will bring the government to power." Under the leadership of PM Modi so that farmers get benefits under PM Samman Yojana, get urea under subsidy..."
