Mumbai, Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday said he watched his latest release "Kalki 2898 AD" for the first time with actor-son Abhishek Bachchan and some friends at a theater here.

Bachchan, who is receiving praise for his portrayal of the immortal warrior Ashwatthama in the big-budget sci-fi film, spent his Sunday at his weekly meet-and-greet with fans outside his home Jalsa, followed by the screening of the film. ,

The 81-year-old shared a series of pictures on his personal blog.

"A Sunday of fun.. seeing Kalki on the big screen with well wishers at GOJ and then with some friends.. watching a movie for the first time.. and the IMAX experience, and the facilities and atmosphere in the theatre.. so impressive, the beauty in the facility and The aesthetics.. wasn't out for years.. but coming out to see all the progress is so satisfying.. (sic)" Bachchan wrote.

Billed as a fusion of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and the science fiction genre, "Kalki 2898 AD" is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.

Made on a reported budget of Rs 600 crore, the multilingual film released worldwide last Thursday and has already earned over Rs 400 crore at the box office.

"Kalki 2898 AD" also stars Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee and Shobhana in lead roles along with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan.
