Saharanpur (UP): Police have registered a case against actor Kamal Rashid Khan for allegedly making objectionable remarks against BSP chief Mayawati, a senior officer said on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain said the FIR was lodged against Khan alias KRK at Deoband police station by Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) district unit chief Sushil Kumar.
The actor is a resident of Fulas Akbarpur area of the district.
Police said he made "objectionable" comments against Mayawati in a post on Instagram.
His brother Majid Ali, who unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha elections from Saharanpur on a BSP ticket, said he had "nothing to do" with Khan in the last 15 years.
