Ahmedabad: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was admitted to a private hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering from heat stroke, was discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening, a police officer said.

“Khan has been discharged from the hospital this evening. He left for the airport from the hospital,” said Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police O Prakash Jat.

The actor was admitted to the multi-specialty KD hospital here on Wednesday. The private hospital has not yet issued any statement on Khan's health condition.

The actor was in Ahmedabad on Tuesday to attend his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team's Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Many parts of Gujarat have been in the grip of extreme heat for the last few days.

According to a report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad city was hit by a "heatwave" on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the maximum temperature was recorded at 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius respectively.

KKR reached their fourth IPL final with an impressive eight-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 here on Tuesday.

Khan also welcomed the fans and players at the stadium. KKR will play the final in Chennai on Sunday.
