Garhwal (Uttarakhand) [India], Abhinav Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP) Uttarakhand conducted a surprise inspection of Bhadrakali check post during his visit to Garhwal today. During this, he inspected Gangotri Yamunotra Passenger Registration Check Center and Tourist Police Assistance Center and also took feedback on travel arrangements from the officials present. He instructed the officials to maintain the traffic system. He also stressed that the convenience of the devotees should be taken care of and all necessary steps should be taken so that they do not face any problem. Subsequently, the DGP reached Srinagar and held a seminar with the district police officer to ensure this. Char Dham Yatra was completed safely in Mahila Police Station of Srinagar.
He coordinated with the district in-charges of Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Chamol and informed them about the number of devotees/travellers and vehicles leaving/arriving for the Dhams from their respective districts to the concerned senior/superintendent of police through telephone and WhatsApp. Gave instructions.etc. on time and implement traffic plan accordingly. Describing Srinagar as the focal point of Chardham Yatra, Abhinav Kuma said, "Due to heavy traffic pressure on Shri Kedarnath and Shri Badrinath, vehicles are being stopped in Srinagar. To streamline the traffic system, he said, “All personnel should work with passengers with promptness, honesty and courtesy. If any employee misbehaves, strict action will be taken against him.'' Abhinav Kumar directed the district in-charge to ensure smooth functioning of the traffic system by appointing police and traffic police personnel as per requirement on the travel routes and providing basic facilities like water. Instructions were also given to establish coordination with department officials and ensure action.Toilets etc. at the parking lot where vehicles of pilgrims/devotees coming for Chardham Yatra are being stopped, Kumar also directed the officials to inform the pilgrims through means like PA system, loud hailers and social sites when the vehicles are stopped. . Or diversion should be done on the travel route.Or other platforms.
