Dehradun, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi visited Kedarnath and Badrinath on Thursday to take stock of the preparations ahead of the Chardham Yatra.

He also inspected a mock drill at the State Emergency Operations Center here to deal with emergencies during the pilgrimage season.

Raturi along with senior officials visited Kedarnath and reviewed the ongoing reconstruction and development works in Kedarpuri. He directed the officials to complete all the mandatory work before the doors of the temple open on May 10.

He said that additional workers and resources should be used, if necessary, to complete the work on time and ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience.

He also visited Badrinath to inspect the travel arrangements and on-the-spot inspection of the reconstruction work being done there.

Raturi also inspected the mock drill jointly organized by the National Disaster Management Authority and Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority at the SEOC control room here.
