Breaking barriers and redefining beauty standards, Aastha is set to make a powerful statement from one of the world's most watched cinema shows. With 9,44,000 (and counting!) followers, the content creator's journey is supported by the popular short video magazine 'Brut'.

Talking about her journey, Aastha told IANS, "I have been suffering from vitiligo since I was a child. Initially, I had patches and was taking medicines. I was never conscious about my body. I was not conscious because my parents always made me feel comfortable about the fees."Society at large made me feel like there was something wrong with me."

The 26-year-old diva said she stopped taking the medicine after vitiligo spread all over her body. Aastha took this decision because she wanted to accept herself the way she was and encourage everyone around her to do the same.

“My journey started with Humans of Bombay, who covered my story and it reached millions of people,” Aastha said. “I started reaching out to many more people through various social media platforms and also collaborating with brands to bring about real change.I collaborated with beauty brand Nykaa to launch a new shade of foundation in my complexion, I also got the opportunity to be with powerful, inspiring and beautiful women on the cover of Cosmopolitan of the Women's Day issue,'' said Aastha.

Vitiligo is a condition characterized by persistent loss of skin pigment. Aastha hoped that her presence at Cannes would send her message of inclusivity and acceptance to a wider audience.

On what kind of challenges she faced due to the skin disorder, Aastha said, “I had to face a lot of bullying because of the way my skin looked, I was told to cover myself all the time. I was in bad shape not to wear anything revealing."Consistently stigmatized as contagious, contrary to the facts."

She added, "But it never really got to me because I had my family who were always very supportive of me and never made me feel like there was anything wrong with me."

Aastha cited Canadian fashion model Winnie Harlow, known globally as the 'Vitiligo Queen', as her biggest inspiration.

Aastha said, “She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. The way she walks and makes her skin look beautiful, I have always looked up to her.,

As Aastha prepares to make history at Cannes, she said she brings the hopes and dreams of a generation yearning for acceptance and representation.

He said, “My aim is to make many other people like me realize that it is normal to dream big and have big goals in life."
