Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday stressed the state government's commitment to promote holistic well-being through supporting the AYUSH sector as a reliable treatment medium.
Sarma posted on More than 8.62 lakh patients have been treated till date.
He said the objectives of AAM include establishing a holistic wellness model based on AYUSH practices and empowering communities for self-care to reduce health costs and increase choices.
Services offered include management of common diseases, preventive measures, promotion of self-care and cultivation of medicinal plants and herbal gardens. There are two Ayurvedic hospitals with 50 beds each at Dudhnoi and Majuli to cater to the local health care needs.
