Tension escalated in Bihar after videos surfaced of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD supporters) verbally attacking Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan's mother Veena Paswan. The incidents took place at a rally organized by former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in Jamui constituency. He condemned it. He posted on Twitter, "I demand the Bihar government to take concrete action as soon as possible by registering an FIR against such anti-social elements." RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was present when He insulted Chirag Paswan's mother. Expressing dissatisfaction over the video, LJP chief Chirag Paswan said that he was 'hurt' as Tejashwi Yadav did not protest against the abuses being hurled at his mother. Paswan said, “I am hurt that the leader in front of whom my family and I were misbehaved is my younger brother.''I have been accused many times that despite being a part of NDA, I am soft towards Lalu Yadav and his family. I will have a direct contest with him on the political platform but there are some family traditions which have been in place since my father's time. My father and Lalu Yadav were friends, so I have cordial relations with that family. I have always maintained the dignity of those relationships, I have opposed them politically, but never extended it to the family... I am sad that when my family was being abused, my younger brother Was on the stage. For me Rabri Devi is my mother. If anyone had used such language against him or my sisters Misa Bharti and Rohini Acharya, I would have given a befitting reply...but my younger brother remained silent. How did he not hear it? Just for politics, for elections – that too just for one seat?

Meanwhile, RJD's Jamui Lok Sabha seat candidate Archana Ravidas claimed that it was a 'pre-planned' act by the opposition to malign the party's image.''He said it couldn't be seen. Our opposition has done this out of fear of loss and to tarnish our image. We condemn this, action should be taken on this,” said Archana Ravidas.
