Dumboor Lake, situated in Karbook & Gandacherra Sub Divisions, is a picturesque water body located 125 km away from Agartala. Its unique shape resembles a small drum, reminiscent of Lord Shiva's 'Dumboor', which gives the lake its name. Covering an area of 41 sq.km, the lake is adorned with 48 Islets, surrounded by lush green hills, creating a mesmerizing scenic view. During winter, the lake becomes a haven for numerous migratory bird species, attracting both ornithologists and tourists. Additionally, there is a hydel project in close proximity to the lake. Dumboor Lake is formed by the confluence of rivers Raima and Saima, while the river Gomati originates from the area known as Tirthamukh, where a grand fair (Mela) takes place annually on 14th January, during Pous Sankranti. Visitors can enjoy boating facilities in Dumboor Lake, and one of the Islets, called "Narkel Kunja," has been developed for recreational purposes.
