Champions Boat League

The Champions Boat League is an annual sporting event held in Kerala, where the magnificent snake boats (Chundan Vallom) race through the backwaters, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. This water carnival takes place at 12 different venues across the state, showcasing the rich traditions and festivals of Kerala. The primary aim of this event is to promote Kerala as a popular tourist destination and to preserve its cultural heritage. Join us in experiencing the excitement and passion of these legendary snake boat races, which go beyond mere competition and embody the spirit of Kerala. These races have been an integral part of the region's rituals and festivities for many years, with the elegant snake boats playing a significant role. Kerala Tourism is organizing the Champions Boat League to safeguard and promote this cherished tradition. The league will be held at various locations, including Punnamada Lake, Karuvatta, Pulinkunnu, Kainakiri, Pandanadu, Chengannur, Kayamkulam, Piravam, Marine Drive, Kottappuram, Thazhathangaadi, Kallada, and Ashtamudi Lake. The events will take place from September 4th, 2022, to November 26th, 2022, starting at Punnamada Lake and concluding with the President's Trophy in Kollam. In addition to the boat races, there will also be a competition featuring small boats at the Chaliyar River in Kozhik.
